To lean more, Click here.           KAFO MODEL VMC-21100 GEARED HEAD VERTICAL MACHINING CENTER Featuring: All major components are cast at their foundry and are fully ribbed close grain castings completely stressed relieved before machining. The ways are induction hardened to 55-60 Rockwell C x 0.1” deep and are precision ground. The headstock, column, base, and cross slides are lined with Turcite. Turcite provides excellent wear and slip stick characteristics due to its low coefficient of friction. As well as vibrational dampening. Turcite reacts with the machine structure thus giving a high static and dynamic stiffness to the machine. Y-Axis utilizes four guide ways to provide full support of the saddle which provides greater rigidity and eliminates X-Axis overhang. Lubrication to all axis is done automatically to ensure longevity of the ways. Center mounted large diameter high precision Japanese angular contact ballscrews are pre-loaded with the nut when installed. This ensures zero backlash and smooth motion through the machining process. A cartridge type spindle is dynamically balanced for smooth operation and long life. Class 7 angular contact bearings are used. Thermal stability of the spindle is maintained by a spindle cooling system. The spindle head is box shaped and reinforced by ribs which results in a strong, rigid structure. The Fanuc AC spindle motor produces wide spindle speed ranges enabling heavy duty cutting efficiently. A counter balancing weight is housed in the column to guarantee the smooth travel of the spindle head and to retain high positioning accuracy. The spindle is applied with precision double row cylindrical roller bearings and precision angular contact thrust ball bearings of SP class. The spindle speed is automatically changed within the speed range, and two-range gear box with hydraulic shifter is standard. The automatic tool changer is a side mount type and exchanges tools efficiently by means of double-arm with the standard hydraulic system. This shortens tool change time and enhances stability of ATC. The tool magazine holds 30 tools. Tools can be released and loaded easily and quickly at random to simplify tool management and register. The magazine accepts tool with a maximum diameter of 5” maximum tool length of 12” and a maximum weight of 26.4 lbs.
